2010 Lakers Invitational Tournaments

Date:	U18 Girls – Friday February 12 (5:00–10:00 pm) / Saturday February 13, 2010 (8:00 am–6:00 pm) U16 Girls – Friday February 19 (5:00–10:00 pm) / Saturday February 20, 2010 (8:00 am–6:00 pm)
Where:	Carrefour du Grand Havre Community Centre, 201 Avenue du Portage Dartmouth, NS (map)
Tournament Fee:	$175.00 payable to “Metro Lakers Volleyball“ upon arrival at the tournament.
Format:	Round Robin – 2 sets; Playoff – 2 out of 3
# of Teams:	Up to 12 teams will be accepted

A canteen will be available on both days will a good variety of items including everyone’s favourites - chili, rice & meatballs, grilled cheese, lots of fruit and vegetables and more. There will also be a variety of volleyball clothing, including t-shirts, track pants, yoga pants, and hoodies, for sale for everyone.

Lakers Player Named to Husky Cup All-Star Team

Congratulations to Sarah MacKinnon, Lakers Middle player, who was named this past weekend to the Husky Cup All-Star team as the Best Blocker for the tournament. Sarah’s continued efforts as one of the team’s middle player has helped raise the Lakers competiveness level this year. Her strength, eagerness and willingness to always learn more about volleyball are only some of the strong attributes she demonstrates on and off the court. Again congratulations Sarah, we are very proud of you and continue to play hard.
